    With another good week of college football under our belts I am excited about this weekend.  I love to see upsets.  When the underlings are able to squeeze out a win against one of the powerhouse teams it makes my soul happy and I really enjoy the rest of my weekend.

     

    There were five legitimate upsets and seven if you consider Virginia Tech’s win over Miami and Georgia Tech’s win or North Carolina as upsets.  The game on Thursday night saw South Carolina upset Mississippi the #4 team in the country.  First of all how in the world were they #4?  Someone explain this to me please.  Who is voting these teams into the top 10?  I think I should be part of that group of voters.

     

     Mississippi’s so-called star quarterback and Heisman hopeful Jevan Snead stunk-up the joint.  He had a horrible game.  He went 7 of 21 for 107 yards and the bulk of the yards came on one pass play that went for a touchdown.  South Carolina’s defense kept the heat on Snead who for the second time, did not play well in the national spot light.  Although he did not play he will most likely play on Sundays as a career backup, what a crime.  Carolina came up big when they stopped a fake field goal attempt by Mississippi.  The voters should place South Carolina in the top 5, as they are one play away (against Georgia) from being unbeaten.

     

    Next up was Penn State and Iowa.  The Nittany Lions for the second year in a row have played horribly against The Hawkeyes. Daryll Clark again looked out of place and could not avoid the rush.  If he is not careful he will find himself in the same position of the other so-called athletic black quarterbacks on the next level with an 88 or 82 on his back and chest; or even worse, playing in Canada in that awful league.  Clark went 12 of 32 for 198 yards and this is just not going to cut it.  He got no help from the running game either; Royster rushed for only 69 yards.

     

    The biggest upset in terms of a lopsided score was Oregon over 6^th ranked California and Jahvid Best.  Oregon dominated this game on both sides of the ball.  Best could not get loose on the 8^th ranked defense in the Pac-10.  Not very impressive Mr. Best.  What was impressive though was the performance that the Oregon tight end put together.  Ed Dickson put on a big time show.  For a big guy he ran away from the defensive backs on two of the three touchdowns he scored.  He finished the day with 11 receptions and 148 yards...Greshman (Oklahoma) watch out you may not be the best tight end in the country.

     

     

    I would not be able to sleep if I did not mention Super Man, Tim Tebow.  I am sure everyone has seen the hit at this point; the kid got his chest caved in by the Kentucky Defensive End.  I am happy to see someone finally put the wood to this kid.  I am so tired of him and how terrific he is; he is marginal at best.  Of course he will get his chance to play on the next level and at quarterback nonetheless.  Look I know he has won the Heisman and several other individual awards but his game is flawed.  He is not close to being an accomplished passer but yet they give him credit for being a good passer.  When will the madness end..? I guess if he takes another hit like this, it may be over.  Get well Super Man.
