There is no way in the world Tim Tebow is the greatest college player ever. He is not even the best quarterbac
Agreed-- not the best college football player ever.
However, if he wins another Heisman he'd have to be considered the "most decorated" or "most celebrated" player in CF history.
"Best" is subjective, but I can think of many players I would pick before Tebow.
One reason Tebow has become so decorated is because he was able to play so much (and so well) so early. For instance, I'd take Vince Young 2005 over Tebow... but not so much VY from 2003. Tebow has excelled nearly since day one.
I'd take Randy Moss over Tebow. Do you remember his senior season? Granted, he was playing in a mid-major, but his stats were insane. 90 catches, nearly 1700 yards, 25 touchdowns!
Another reason he's done so well is because he's played in the best CF program of the last 5 years.
Tebow is great, but he's benefitted from circumstance as much as talent.
So, who was the greatest college player? I'd probably take Barry Sanders. Mediocre program; One dimensional teams (he was the dimension); insane stats (3,249 total yards, 39 TD in 1988)-- but he didn't do it for 4 years.
how do you define "best" wins, talent, skills, or leadership
obviously its a team sport , but can we think of any other player that has a better combinatio
